Procédure
FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, is a communications protocol for exchanging files over a network.
It enables a computer to copy files from or to another computer on the network, to manage a website, or to delete or modify files on that computer.
A user is an account that allows you to carry out operations on the files to which you have given this user access.
The user can carry out routine operations on the folder he or she can write to.
A user can therefore :
2. Click on Sites > FTP user > New FTP user
3. Select the website for this user.
4. Complete the following fields: Username and Password, then click Save.
Please note. The Disk Quota field must be set to -1 or unlimited. This limitation is not active for the FTP user. If you want to limit the disk space occupied by your sites, you need to apply the restriction when you create the site, as described here : How to add a domain to your VPS server
5. Once your FTP account has been validated, you should see this summary screen.
6. You can now connect to your server via FTP.
With SFTP, the connection is more secure than with FTPES. LWS therefore recommends using this protocol.
To create an SFTP user, you need to create a SHELL user.
Go to Sites => Shell User, then New Shell User:
10. Select the site for which you wish to create a SHELL user, then enter your user name and password:
After validating your SHELL account, you should obtain this summary screen.
