What is a VPS server?

A VPS (Virtual Private Server) is the equivalent of a dedicated server, without the technical hassle and at a much more affordable rental price.

What are the advantages of a VPS server?

VPS hosting lets you benefit from an affordable server while giving you the power and control of a dedicated server.

The advantages of a private server are as follows:

  • Customisation: With a VPS server, you get your own operating system. This also means you have your own instances such as Apache, PHP and MySQL. If you need to customise any of the services, this will be possible.
  • Control: If you're installing server applications that require a system reboot, you'll be able to do this at any time.
  • Dedicated resources: On a VPS server, you have dedicated RAM. Unlike shared hosting, no one else can use your RAM.
