Glue records are DNS records created by the domain registrar. The record provides a complete response when the TLD name server returns a reference for an authoritative name server for a domain.
For example, the domain name"lws.fr" has name servers"ns1.lws.fr""ns2.lws.fr". To resolve the domain name, DNS would query in order: root, TLD name server and authoritative name server. However, by having the authoritative name servers inside the domain itself, these name servers cannot be found without outside help.
This is known as a "circular reference". Creating a glue record, an A record served by the TLD name server, avoids circular references and allows both DNS name resolution and the listing of name servers within the domain itself.
Glue records can only be created at the domain registrar level, as the registrar controls the DNS settings for delegation of a given domain. Each name server on the Internet has its own glue record created by the domain owner.
Before creating your own"Glue Record", you will need to create the DNS Zones that will identify them. The first thing to do is to create your type A DNS Zones.
A glue record is created when you host your own authoritative servers. If a third party, such as a managed DNS provider, hosts your authoritative name servers, the provider takes care of configuring the glue record.
If you have your own authoritative servers, you will need to configure the glue records with the domain registrar.

In the case of *.fr : The Glue Record registration at AFNIC level is done directly in the DNS, so you don't need to create glue records on the LWS Panel for this type of extension.
1. log in to your client interface and click on the"Manage" button behind the domain name concerned.
4. Click on the"DNS Glue Record" button to manage your Glue values.
5. Add the DNS server and the IP associated with the server. Click on"Validate" for your request to be taken into account.
1. log in to your domain name administration and click on the"Manage" button behind the domain name concerned.
2. Click on the"DNS Glue Record" button to delete a record.
3. Click on the Trash icon behind the DNS Glue Record server you wish to delete.
You are now able to manage DNS Glue Records on your domain name with LWS. DNS Glue Records allow you to configure and manage your own DNS servers.
